Project Description:
Coler & Colantonio, Inc. successfully completed a natural gas pipeline project located in Ludlow Massachusetts, for the Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC). Included in the scope of services were preliminary survey and route selection, alignment sheet development, design engineering, engineering permits, material specification, construction bid documents construction management and inspection. Coler & Colantonio, Inc worked closely with the client and the environmental contractor in coordinating the environmental permitting effort.

Coler & Colantonio, Inc provided the engineering design services for the metering and regulation station feeding the MMWEC Power Plant. The detail design/drafting effort included providing all material specification, tie-in facility requirements, hydrostatic test design, metering and regulation design, data acquisition design, and alignment sheet generation.

On behalf of MMWEC, Coler & Colantonio, Inc acted as the owner’s representative for all stages of the project through construction. Coler & Colantonio, Inc provided survey, inspection and construction management services during construction of the pipeline and associated facilities.

Coler & Colantonio, Inc. utilized in-house developed software ccFirstSite, ccAlignGen and Intrepid to automatically generate as built alignment sheets and project closeout reports. Intrepid will also be utilized to generate alignment sheets that are updated during maintenance and operation.

In addition to the efforts described above, Coler & Colantonio, Inc. provided MMWEC with the written Operating and Maintenance and Emergency Procedure documentation required by federal and state code. Prior to the commissioning of the pipeline, MMWEC entered into an agreement with Coler & Colantonio, Inc. to provide various support services to assist them with the ongoing operation and maintenance of their pipeline. These services include providing emergence response capabilities, administration of their DOT mandated drug testing program, assistance with annual reporting requirements to federal and state regulating agencies, and with assistance with numerous ongoing compliance and operational issues.
