Project Description:
The project involves the installation of nine continuously operating reference stations (CORS) located at Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) maintenance facilities throughout the state. The CORS will provide GPS data from a known, coordinated reference station thereby allowing other State survey crews or private surveying companies to compute geodetic positions at field locations anywhere within (or outside) the State of Connecticut, depending on the accuracy desired.
Coler & Colantonio, Inc. provided GPS hardware and software, prefabricated components such as antenna mounts, specialized cabling, performed testing, installation, and maintenance of all GPS components, as well as overall project management. Coler & Colantonio, Inc. also developed a web based user interface and provided installation and maintenance of computer hardware, communications components, and associated software.
